Asuka-dera Temple

In Nara prefecture, there are so many temples, as you might know.
Todaiji Temple in Nara City is one of the most popular temples in Japan. It's best known for The Great Buddha of Nara.

But did you know about Asuka-dera Temple in Asuka Village?
It doesn't have the biggest buddha,but it has the oldest buddha in Japan.

The monk there told me that you can see different facial expressions when seen from the left and the right.
I have a picture of the buddha, but I feel kind of a little sorry for the buddha to show his face on Facebook...
